Toshiba satellite C660-10v came with dead issue. Found that Adapter shorts when plugged in. Repaired shorting adapter and cleaned fan and heat sink.

Now it displays bios screen with regular shut down , sometimes for a few seconds, others 20 minutes and more..(with only cpu, fan, heat sink and ram installed on mobo).

No freeze, no reboot. no heat.

Need to resolve the issue urgently, P.S help!!!

Also need a schematic.

Check Thermal Sensor for the scheme.
Check the motherboard reaction when bent.
Check with an oscilloscope voltage CPU.
Check with the scheme, who changes the signal off when the motherboard is shutdown

I already tried mobo reaction when bent, no reaction, same result.

Will try to check the other points this week-end and revert soon.

Further to my 1st post, have new results that might help.

found U1 (EMC1402) -SMBus temperature sensor Ic- in a bad working condition (see attachments) :
CPU_therm and VDD ok 3.74V but :
SMCLK (EC_SMB_CK2)=0V, SMDATA (EC_SMB_DA2)=0V and Alert#=0V as well.
R2 supplying 3VS to alert#pin was missing. Fixed a new R2 and Alert#is now 3VS.
Changed EC KB926QF with a recovered one from scrap mobo, SMCLK and SMDATA are now 3VS,
no more shut down problemlap fires up but, now no display issue, in LCD and external monitor as well !!
I suspect the recovered KB926QF might be in a partial working condition!!

Any clue or comment is welcome ! P.S reply urgently!

You must install old EC and check LCD image, but I think a problem is hidden in other place.

Meanwhile, I ordered a new kb926QF-E0 chip to install and see if display comes. Will post any new results when ready.
