This is a common problem with apple a1260 15" no power up or display. When i reflow the nvidia and it worked but now problem is that when i push power button without battery on ac adapter does not work but show the green led light on the dc socket. but when i put battery and chqrge a little then works alright. 3.3v 5v all okay but no power on with adapter with adpater and battery pls help need to know the power plane of this circuit

does anyone know how to restore dead smc F2116 via jtag flash I believe the firmware is the main culprit for all macbook.pls provide info how to read /write smc h8s2116/2117 firmware.

1. If you have a problems with ac adapter and with charged battery it work - it is a problem of charge controller or of system of power/battery choise.

2. after reflow you have a bad video chip or contact lost between the layers of board

3. one of memory chips now is burned

4. North bridge is burned

heat didn't spare neither board nor chips on it

If i put a charged battery it work fine the display the battery charges normal but it just wont work with only adapter.this is a very weird problem.if the nb or some track was bad then it ahould not work on charged battery also.i feel the programm of the smc get corrupted.another method to start the laptop in only adapter is
1)keep pressing the power switch on and then plug the adapter connection dont release the power switch for 5sec
2)after 5 sec release the power switch the laptop comes on
This is like you force the smc to trigger the power supply

I am mostly working with Macbook laptops, 90% of all my work are apple computers and I do get the same problem as you now " push power button without battery on ac adapter does not work " very often, at first couldn't understand it as well, but then noticed that it happens only when I'm using non original Magsafe adapter, when it says on adapter "replacement" I'm having this issue, it's probably low quality adapters or some sort of recognition system on Macbooks itself for original and non originals chargers.
Simply try it with a known good working original Magsafe and see if it makes any difference, or try this adapteron another Macbook and see if ther will be same issue, then you will be sure it's charger related

well i have tried all adapters with it and same issue.i suspect it is the smc firmware which get corrupted .i want to know if we can connect a cable via rs232 or lan to download smc firmware or do they use a jtag cable to do it.there has to be some way to get the firmware as programmers to support this bga h8s/2116 and h8s/2117 are expensive.

That's interesting, I thought smc is located in EEPROM chip, any ways why not to try change BGA h8s/2116 from another dead/spare motherboard ?

Though I'm not sure if they are already programmed or you need to do it by yourself ?
