compaq v3000 i got for repair with no power i changed the dc-dc max8734a and also mosfet 4422 now the power light at the dc socket comes but there is no 5v or 3.3 volts the north brige nvidia nf-6150-n-a3 what is the ohms on the multimeter to show as it show 3ohms i feel it is short also does anyone now the ball pitch size of nf-6150-n-a3.thanks any one have schematics for this model can email me.

afaik, 6150go doesn't need 5v it seems, that the northbridge is dead, 3ohm - isn't normal!

does anyone know the reflow profile for nvdia chpset what the temp/sec should be for bga desoldering I am using a bga rework with a infr red heater and need to know the temp profile.

the profile should be: 1 dg per seconds till 160dg, then 5 seconds delay, then again 1 dg per seconds till 235dg. this is working profile, which used by me

okay now i removed the south bridge and the shorting has gone the n6150 is now showing 6.5ohms but after i removed the south and the north bridge it give me only 3.3v and sometimes 5v stdy power does the south bridge have to be there for the dc-dc to work. does any one have idea on this also what is the ball pitch size for southbridge(nf-430-n-a3) and ball pitch size for nf-6150-n-a2.

okay now that i have pulled out the southbridge and the northbridge i dont have 3.3v or 5v coming from max8734a does the southbridge have to be present for reset or is there a shtdn sigal come from southbridge for the dc-dc.also hom many ohms should the northbridge measure.i have a reading on some points 120ohms and some 6.8ohms.can someone verify this

the ball pitch size is same for southbridge and northbridge(0,6mm size of the ball and 1mm distance between centers of balls). there'll be no standby voltages without southbridge.

thanks for your advice i will put the south bridge chip but will it turn on without the northbridge chip as i have removed both of them i have a dead southbridge shorted so the supply drop 3.3v.lamo do you have schematics for this v3000 or dv2000 series amd they have all same problem i get 4 laptop every week with same problem.and have just got a new infrared machine dark region for bga soldering so to set profiles it take time.
the intel south bridge heat profile will be the same for it .235deg .
